History
The future Brewster's Red Hotel can be seen, circa 1900, at street level behind the plume of smoke. The bridge is now part of the Root River State Trail.

The building was built as a home in the 1870s by R.R. Greer, an early merchant. Later the main floor was a newspaper and print shop, a tire repair shop and an antique shop.
